Roof Cleaning Package 2026

A controlled process — not force

Roof cleaning is often misunderstood as a job that simply requires strong pressure and speed. In reality, effective roof cleaning is about control, planning and choosing the right sequence of techniques based on the roof’s condition. Our team focuses on method selection rather than force, ensuring each roof is cleaned safely and responsibly — without unnecessary risk.

Tailored to the condition of your roof

Every roof is different. Tile type, age, exposure and the extent of moss growth all influence how a roof should be cleaned. That’s why we never apply a one-size-fits-all approach. Manual moss removal, controlled pressure washing and soft washing are often combined on the same roof — only where appropriate and in the correct order.

Fully managed from start to finish

Professional roof cleaning doesn’t stop at the tiles. It includes preparation, protection, long-term treatment and complete clean-up of the property. From initial assessment to biocide protection and final clean-up, we manage the entire process — ensuring the roof is left clean, protected and the property left tidy.

Roof cleaning done properly

A professional approach based on assessment, control and long-term protection

Drone inspection — seeing the roof properly

Where appropriate, the roof is inspected using a professional drone survey. This allows us to:assess the roof safely without unnecessary access, view areas that are difficult to see from ground level, identify cracked, missing or fragile tiles, assess the thickness and spread of moss growth,Drone inspection removes guesswork and allows decisions to be made based on what’s actually there.

Recorded footage for clarity and transparency

Drone inspections provide recorded images and video, giving a clear visual record of the roof’s condition before any cleaning begins. This helps to:document existing issues, plan the safest cleaning approach, avoid surprises during the work, ensure transparency in how decisions are made. The roof is assessed first — cleaning follows second.

A safer, more predictable outcome

By inspecting the roof thoroughly before cleaning, we:reduce the risk of unexpected problems, avoid unnecessary pressure or aggressive methods, choose the correct sequence of techniques, deliver more consistent, long-term results. This inspection-led approach protects the roof, the property and the people living beneath it — and sets the foundation for responsible roof cleaning.

Roof inspection before cleaning

Before any cleaning begins, we take time to properly understand the roof.
Condition, age, tile type and existing wear all influence how a roof should be cleaned — and whether certain methods should be used at all.

That’s why inspection is a core part of our roof cleaning process, not an optional extra.

Our roof cleaning process

Once the roof has been inspected and the appropriate methods selected, the work follows a clear, structured process.
Each stage is planned to reduce risk, protect the roof and deliver consistent, long-term results.

This is not a rushed service.
Every step has a purpose.

preparation and equipment setup before roof cleaning service

1. Site Preparation

Before any cleaning begins, we carefully prepare the site to minimise risk and prevent unnecessary mess. Professional equipment and safe access systems, including mobile scaffold towers where required, are set up first. Items around the property are moved or protected, neighbouring properties are informed where work may affect shared areas, and plants and surrounding surfaces are safeguarded.Where necessary, downpipes are temporarily blocked to prevent moss and debris entering the drainage system. This preparation stage allows the rest of the work to be carried out cleanly, safely and with full control.

2. Roof Cleaning

Once preparation is complete, the roof cleaning begins using the methods selected during inspection. Depending on the condition of the roof, this may involve a single technique or a carefully planned combination of manual moss removal, controlled pressure washing and soft washing.Cleaning is carried out methodically, working across the roof surface from all sides — typically starting at the rear of the property and finishing at the front. This allows the work to progress in a controlled manner and helps manage debris and runoff effectively. We work in two-person teams. While one technician focuses on cleaning the roof, the second manages ongoing clean-up around the property, ensuring moss and debris are removed as the work progresses rather than left until the end. This approach keeps the site under control throughout the process and reduces disruption for the homeowner.

3. Biocide Application

Once roof cleaning is complete, biocide treatment is applied to the roof surface. Application is carried out using a water-fed pole fitted with a soft brush, allowing the solution to be properly worked into textured and porous tile surfaces rather than simply sprayed on.This method ensures even coverage and effective penetration into areas where spores and organic growth remain after cleaning. In most cases, biocide is applied section by section as cleaning progresses and the team moves across the roof. In some situations, depending on access requirements and whether scaffold access is needed, application may be carried out as a final stage once the entire roof has been cleaned.Regardless of timing, biocide treatment is always included and provides 3–5 years of protection, significantly reducing the need for repeat washing and helping preserve the roof long-term.

4. General Clean-up

Once roof cleaning and biocide application are complete, we carry out a thorough clean-up of the entire property. This goes far beyond simply tidying the area around the roof.Gutters are cleaned inside and out, soffits and fascia are washed, and external walls are rinsed where affected during the work. Patios and driveways are also washed down to restore their original appearance after moss and debris have been removed. All collected debris is gathered and placed into the garden waste bin, where it can be composted naturally. If preferred, we can remove the waste from site for an additional charge. This final stage ensures the property is left clean, presentable and ready for normal use — not just the roof itself.

Roof Cleaning Methods

The most suitable roof cleaning approach depends on the condition, age and type of the roof. While some methods deliver faster visible results, others are gentler and designed to protect the surface long-term, with the full effect developing gradually over time. Choosing the right technique ensures both effective cleaning and the long-term integrity of the roof.

Protect and Extend the Life of Your Roof

Regular roof cleaning removes damaging moss, algae, and lichen that slowly break down roof tiles and compromise their protective surface. Left untreated, moisture becomes trapped beneath growth, leading to cracks, frost damage, and premature roof failure. Professional roof cleaning helps extend the lifespan of your roof, saving you thousands in early replacement or major repairs.

Prevent Costly Repairs and Structural Damage

A neglected roof can quickly lead to blocked gutters, water ingress, and internal damp problems. Moss and debris prevent proper drainage, increasing the risk of leaks and structural damage to your home. By investing in professional roof cleaning, you proactively protect your property, reduce long-term maintenance costs, and avoid unexpected repair bills.

Boost Kerb Appeal and Property Value

A clean, well-maintained roof dramatically improves the overall appearance of your home. Whether you’re planning to sell, rent, or simply take pride in your property, a freshly cleaned roof enhances kerb appeal and gives a strong first impression. Professional roof cleaning instantly refreshes your home’s exterior and adds visible value.

Why Professional Roof Cleaning Is Essential for Your Property

Professional roof cleaning protects your property, prevents damage, and helps maintain its long-term value.
